The Holidays are coming!

Friends, do not fear. It is not yet Christmas I speak of, nor even Halloween, despite their all-pervasive presence in the supermarkets. In fact it is my own holidays I speak of. Despite the fact I spent 3 weeks in Edinburgh, then went to France for a long weekend, then went to Florence for another long weekend (this time mid-week), I really do feel that I am in much need of a holiday.

In my defence it has been an incredibly busy couple of weeks. I have been meeting with a myriad of people, all of whom have been incredibly helpful and supportive, and many of the meetings have indeed been fruitful. For a start one of these such meetings has led to actual paid work! Hallelujah! This week I have been working for a cultural-projects company and doing research and development for a new project they're working on. The project is technically still a secret (ooh, exciting), but not for MI5 or anything quite so sexy. Nevertheless I had to sign an NDA and went on-site for the first time today, finally seeing behind the scenes. It's all rather exciting, so watch this space.

On top of that I have early stage confirmation that I have finally got an agent! Woohoo! A local actor's agency have agreed to take me under their wing and try to support this early stage of my career, so all fingers and toes are crossed and double-crossed on that front. Once again, watch this space and we will see.

So I hope you can begin to see that I do feel as if I deserve a little bit of tlc. Despite the fact that I can feel your eyes rolling even from the safety of my screen, I intend to very much enjoy myself and indulge in doing absolutely bloody nothing except reading, eating, drinking and relaxing. I may also dabble in a bit of tennis and cultural exploration, but hard work? I don't think so! To abate your curiosity I can reveal that I will be heading to the island of Fuerteventura for 10 days with the family. We haven't had a family holiday in a very long time, so it all feels rather nostalgic. The weather is still said to be about 27 and sunny, so I think I'll take that. I can already taste the fresh fish and Spanish wine. I am sure I'll find myself very much at home.

This little escapade does mean that there will be an intermission between my posts of at least two weeks, although I do hope to update you all (by which I mean brag, obviously) about my holiday upon my return. I only hope that my tan will be so dazzling I will be constantly confused for a local. One can dream! (although my broken Spanish may break the illusion).

ADIOS! Until next time x
